Jack taught for ten years before becoming the Principal, where he served for an additional 23 years.  For 22 of those years, he also served as Athletic Director for the high school.

Along with being the first inductee into the Brandon Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Jack received the S.D.H.S.A.A. Coaching Award, the Outstanding S.D. Secondary School Principal Award and Student Council Award for 33 years of dedication to his students and athletes.
